The New Horizons Symphony, directed by Dr. Marianna Gabbi with guest conductor Kathy Hill, will perform a free concert Sunday, May 20, 2018 at 3 p.m. at NMSU’s Atkinson Recital Hall. No reservations are needed. Donations are accepted. The highlight of the concert is Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5 performed by guest artist Daniel Vega-Albela, NMSU violin professor and member of the esteemed La Catrina String Quartet. The concert will open with Dvorak’s beautiful Serenade No. 1 for String Orchestra. The second half of the program includes the Russian Easter Overture by Rimsky-Korsakov and Capriccio Italien by Tchaikovsky. New Horizons Symphony is a nonprofit organization and a member of the New Horizons International Music Association.
