A free Educator’s Evening at the New Mexico Museum of Space History is slated for Thursday, January 16, at 6:00 pm, inside the Tombaugh Education Building and New Horizons Theater. It will feature a tasty taco bar, door prizes, education demonstrations and special planetarium programs. Teachers must register in advance to attend.
“We are very excited to invite area educators to this free evening of good food, fun programs and camaraderie,” said Museum Executive Director Chris Orwoll. “We want to take this opportunity to show our local teachers how we can help them in their classrooms with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) based activities designed to excite and educate students.” The museum education department offers a variety of classes available at schools or onsite at the museum, including a portable planetarium.
Attendance is limited to 100 registered teachers and their guest. Teachers who are interested should call the museum education department for more information. Registration deadline is Tuesday, January 14, before close of business.
