INN OF THE MOUNTAIN GODS TO HOST ANNUAL
GUS MACKER TOURNAMENT
MESCALERO, N.M. (May 29, 2019) — Inn of the Mountain Gods is set to host the largest Gus Macker tournament in New Mexico, Saturday, June 1 through Sunday, June 2.
Each team must have at least four players on their roster, with three players on the court at a time. Teams will be computer matched into divisions by age and gender, with male and female divisions for juniors 18 and under, adults 19 and older and a top division reserved for the most skilled players.
All proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Club and the Stepping Into a Better You Health Fair . The tournament will also feature a slam-dunk competition and 3-point shootout where teams will compete for $1,500 in prizes. Visit Macker.com for more information on rules and registration.
Aside from two days of basketball action, New Mexico’s Lieutenant Governor Howie Morales will host the opening ceremonies and will shoot the opening shot, and three-time NBA champion A.C. Green will be signing autographs. The tournament is free to attend for spectators.
