Intro to Asian Religious Traditions

This course will focus on religious expression in East Asia. Over the quarter, we will cover the spread of Buddhism through the Tibet and Mongolia and into China, Korea and Japan. We will also cover the indigenous Han religious traditions of China and Korea and its influence on Japanese culture. You will develop a critical awareness of the similarities, and subtle differences between various ethnic-religious traditions.
