Experience Required: Three (3) years of 911 experience related to the operation of computers, radio, and telecommunications system and providing police, fire, and EMS dispatch operations

Job Summary:  Under general supervision of the Assistant Communications Director, The Training Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, scheduling, and documenting all training for Telecommunications personnel. The Training Coordinator must have considerable knowledge of departmental policies, procedures and have the ability to explain each policy to personnel should the need arise. Must possess organizational and technical skills and have the ability to use independent judgment working with little direct supervision when necessary. The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to this class. This position is performed in conjunction with and does not remove or replace any functions of the Training Coordinators primary job description and duties as listed by the TBRDA.
 

Knowledge

  • Through understanding of Motorola Spillman System, Flex, and Mobile CAD.
  • Working understanding of Motorola MCC 5500/7500 and Zetron Radio Consoles
  • Principles and procedures of record keeping.
  • Principles, policies, and procedures of the New Mexico Public Safety Communications Systems and NFPA 1221 standards as they relate to a PSAP.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
 
Salary: $28.50 per hour plus benefits package.
