JOB SUMMARY:
Performs psychotherapy with clients in need of this service.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform clinical assessments.
- Develop treatment plans.
- Perform psychotherapy.
- Review treatment plans.
- Document all service contracts.
- Discharge clients from psychotherapy.
- Prepare reports or other documents necessary for the treatment of the client.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Attend individual and group supervision.
- Consult with other professionals in the agency, outside the agency, and with the public.
- Perform crisis intervention.
- Attend professional training and maintain license for profession.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May present educational or public information forums.
- May testify in court.
- May coordinate a particular kind of therapy service or the provision of therapy to a specific population.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of psychotherapy practice and procedures.
- Ability to effectively employ written and spoken language.
- Ability to analyze and integrate information and use that information in therapy sessions.
- Ability to behave courteously, efficiently, and effectively in interpersonal transactions.
- Ability to consult with other professionals when appropriate.
- Experience working with Alcohol & Drug clients is a plus.
TRAINING/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires depth of knowledge in the field sufficient to perform thoroughly and accurately the full scope of job functions outlined above.
- Requires a graduate degree in a recognized mental health profession from an accredited college or university.
- Must be licensed in a mental health profession recognized in the state of New Mexico.
PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:
- 75% of available time spent on billable activities.
- No professional standards or ethical violations.
- No agency policy and procedure violations.
- Documentation complete 95% of the time.
- 90% satisfaction rating from staff.
- An average of 50% reduction in client symptoms documented on client treatment plans.
- An average of 50% treatment plan goal attainment across caseload.
