The City Of Alamogordo
Executive Offices
 
WHEREAS, the first Kiwanis Club was organized in 1915 and has grown rapidly into a leading service organization in every part of the world with more than 7,000 clubs in Eighty countries and 550,000 members, And
WHEREAS, The Kiwanis Southwest District Is Composed Of The States Of New Mexico, Arizona, El Paso, Texas, one Club in Nevada and California, And
WHEREAS, The Kiwanis Club Of Alamogordo Was Established November 8, 1956 
By The Las Cruces Kiwanis Club; And
WHEREAS, “Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time,” And
WHEREAS, Kiwanis Motto is “Serving the Children of the World,” And
WHEREAS, Kiwanis Purpose: “To improve lives through fellowship and service worldwide”, And
WHEREAS, the First Object of Kiwanis is To Give Primacy To The Human And Spiritual, Rather Than The Material Value Of Life, And
WHEREAS, The Second Object is To Encourage The Daily Living Of The Golden Rule In All Human Relationships; And
WHEREAS, Kiwanis sponsors service clubs to our Youth, through College Circle K, High School Key Clubs, Middle School Builders Club and Elementary K-Kids To Develop Service Leadership skills and To Devote Their Human Resource To Meeting The Needs Of Mankind.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Donald E. Boss, Mayor of The City Of Alamogordo, New Mexico County of Otero, Do Hereby Proclaim the week of November 8-12, 2021 as 

Kiwanis Week             

In Observance Of 65 Years of Service to Alamogordo, New Mexico, and encourage all citizens to recognize the importance of the local Kiwanis Service to our Community.
